As the higher education realm becomes increasingly competitive, institutions rely on their admissions teams to collect data, analyze it, and use if to make strategic decisions. But with so much data available across so many different sources—and with so many different people needing data for different purposes—creating and managing a reporting strategy can prove daunting.

In this course, we’ll use a combination of group discussions, demonstrations, WebAdMIT activities, Excel activities, and overviews of industry best practices to explore practical approaches in creating a data reporting strategy that supports your institution’s needs.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will earn 0.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

What are the learning objectives?

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

  • Develop a reporting strategy that supports your organization’s goals.
  • Build a stakeholder matrix and audit existing data sources.
  • Strategically capture useful applicant data using a Centralized Application Service (CAS).
  • Utilizes WebAdMIT’s Report Manager and Export Manager functions.
  • Analyze and interpret data using key Excel skills and data analysis best practices.
  • Present data in the most appropriate manner(s).

What do I need to know to participate?

This session is geared toward a broad range of individuals who need to manage admissions-related data for tactical and strategic purposes (this might include admissions coordinators, directors, etc.). No prerequisite data reporting knowledge is necessary, but attendees should have an on-the-job level of responsibility that includes data management and/or reporting. A basic, working knowledge of Excel is required so you can follow along as we explore more advanced ways to analyze your data. Additionally, though not required, it’s useful to have a basic understanding of WebAdMIT’s functionality since we will be creating Reports and Exports.

How does the virtual course work?

The course is held every Wednesday from 1:00 - 2:30 PM ET for four consecutive weeks:

Session 1: September 4
Session 2: September 11
Session 3: September 18
Session 4: September 25

 

What does the registration include?

The registration fee subsidizes our licensing fees for software used to run virtual courses.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and all registration fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. Liaison International, LLC (Liaison) reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel training events due to insufficient registration, unanticipated scheduling conflicts, or emergencies. If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, full registration fees will be refunded; Liaison is not responsible for travel expenses.
